Though I normally write about action, adventure, and fantasy (besides Community) I feel its time to visit a more mundane side of the spectrum of entertainment. Arrested Development was one of the smartest, engaging, and hilarious sitcoms of all time. Like decent show that is fantastic, it was canceled before it’s time. We’ll it looks like that injustice may be rectified! Arrested Development is getting a new season five years after it was canceled!
For those of you not Familiar Arrested Development was a show about a wealthy family of psychos who loose everything when the patriarch George Bluth gets arrested. His son Michael has to hold the family and company together. What other TV family has, a sleazy magician, a closeted aspiring blue man group never nude, a stunted man child, a clueless activist socialite, passionate cousin on cousin incest, and passive aggressive alcoholic ice queen? The cast was full of highly talented actors, and the plot was ridiculously well written. The series was so well respected that anything else staring any of the actors involved has small refrences to it. (Check out Archer, Running Wilde, and Sit down and Shut up.) For the last five years rumors have floated around that there would be an Arrested Development Movie. The promise of another season is even better. So far it promises to explore where the Bluths have gone in their lives.
I can’t wait. I just hope I’m not let down.
