In today’s comic The NERD introduces young Albert to the heads of inter-dimentional research, Doctors Koushirou, and Rook.
I had a lot of fun designing this page. Between the characters and the equipment, the sources of artwork came from all over the place. The portal was one of the first pictures I drew when I conceived of this web comic. It was an experiment to see if I could draw the kind of equipment Albert would work with. The Doctors are homages to other sci-fi characters. A gold star to whoever can guess who they’re a tribute to. My proudest point in this is the hexagonal grid window in the back ground. Popular culture has decided that hexagons look sciency. Where did I get that pattern from? A sandwich wrapper.
